Summer Update
Bonjour Mes Amis! The summer is quickly coming to an end and our trip to the Dordogne is approaching. We've made good progress this year, studing: pronunciation, articles, prepositions, and nouns. We've also had a number of extras with special readings and charades. For the next few weeks, we'll be concentrating more on conversation to prepare ourselves for our trip. Thanks to all who've helped to lead the sessions or have brought in material to share. It's been a productive year!! Gi

Spring Update
Our studies are in full swing and we're continuing to progress with our skills...
Club Litteraire - Suzanne is leading our popular reading and comprehension class with new selections each week. No worry if you've missed before, you may join any session. Selections have included exerpts from the Harry Potter series en francais!!
Classes with Linda - reading articles and discussion all en francais. This continues to get glowing reviews from our members.
Regular meetings - see Programme on this site to see what we're reviewing and when. We are going slowing thru a list of grammar topics, hoping this pace will help the material to stick with us. Have really made progress with Articles and now reviewing Prepositions. Trying to review last week's lesson each week to reinforce the material.
Many of our members continue to enjoy the Seniors Monday morning classes and attendance is growing!
Don't forget our September trip to the Dordogne and into Spain. Looking forward to learning about the Basque culture and visiting some Neolithic sites. We hope to use this summer to build up our conversational skills. Everyone enjoyed Mr. Atkins slide show presentation on Hiking the High Pyranées at the Bon Air Library last Tuesday. The area is very beautiful! Gi

Spring 2011 - Lots of options!!
We've been working to find the right mix of classes, formats, material, and meeting times to fit our diverse group. So far; so good. Several are meeting with Linda to get an immersion experience. Some are doing the Club Litteraire again, led by Suzanne every other Tuesday. And others are starting from the begining again, with a comprehensive list of topics to cover and sharing the teaching every other Wednesday. I hope each of you can participate in at least one of these formats. Keep thinking of how we can make this better and share your thoughts. Notice that we have a new format and many new pages. I've added a number of you to be able to update the pages yourselves. If you need help up or down loading files thru Google Docs, please check with Deborah for help. Gi

Bonne Année !!
The holidays are over and we're gearing up again for another round of learning and fun.
- Classes with Linda - Alix is checking with Linda on arrangements for a smaller group. If you have questions, please contact Alix for details. The schedule on this site will be updated, once we know the details.
- Mes Amis regular sessions - The brainstorming session brought up some good ideas and we're going to try to go forward using a list of topics, instead of a single book. The draft list has been loaded to Google Docs for quick reference, on this site, under downloads, Google Docs, item 1. Topic List. You should also be getting an emailed copy. Feel free to email Gi with topics not on the list.
- Suzanne may be offering another Club Literaire on alternate Tuesdays - more to come!!!
